Coinwatches
All the coins (medals) of the Elvis Presley Coinwatch Collection were struck in 1997 by the Royal Canadian Mint for Legendary Coins in very limited numbers under a special license from Graceland.
Ten years after the launch of the hugely successful Elvis Presley Coin Collection, three of the most popular designs were chosen and new dies were produced to be used in an exciting new form of watch making. The end result was an exquisite line of Premium Coin Watches.
The process began with The Royal Canadian Mint striking medals using pure.999 silver blanks. These medals were minted in the highest quality possible to ensure that they were absolutely flawless. A clear sealing lacquer was then applied at the Mint to maintain their craftsmanship and beauty for an eternity.
The minted medals were then customized and turned into the dial or watch face. To enhance the image, a two-toned process was subsequently applied by craftsmen in Alaska. The portrait of Elvis and Graceland were plated in 24 k gold leaving the background a shinny silver. The result of this process is absolutely stunning. Gone forever are the days of the paper or plastic dial.
The detail and accuracy attained by these medals is second to none and will never again be duplicated. From the tiny notes on the gates, right down to the studded Eagle Pattern on his jacket and his striking likeness, each minute detail has been painstakingly reproduced by the finest engravers at the Royal Canadian Mint.
The mintage for each design was limited to only 100 pieces world wide. From this small number of watch dials, men's, ladies and pocket watches were produced.
The watches were presented on a pillow in a Prestige Presentation Case adorned with gold lettering which reads, "Elvis A Legend in Time". The Pocket Coinwatches were fastened by a chain and came in a leather pouch.
These Coinwatches were never made available for sale except for a brief time through a special limited offer. (Batteries not included)
